Golf Course
The golf course has almost completely healed from the maintenance we performed a few weeks back during our course closure. The recent rains and hot weather have made the grass pop. We are seeing substantial growth which has resulted in dense fairways, thicker rough and green grass about everywhere you turn.

Common Grounds
The most notable happening in common grounds which will also benefit the golf course is the start of the lake bank restoration and cleaning of the lake interconnect between Sterling Lakes and Saratoga near the Divot and Pump Station.
The process includes pulling the soil that has washed off the lake banks over 30+ years out of the lake and spreading it on the lake bank where it was originally. After the soil is spread, cloth is laid on the lake bank and rip rap (6” rock) is laid on top of the cloth. The cloth and the rock help stabilize the bank and will slow down erosion moving forward. At the same time as the lake bank restoration is happening, MRI is also using a Vac Truck to “vacuum” soil that has built up in the pipe from the interior of the pipe. This work will allow water to flow efficiently to the south towards the pump station.

The work on this interconnect should be complete next week, then we move up to the pipe on hole #15. That process will be less big machinery and more physical labor so that the golf course doesn’t get torn up but the goal will be the same, unimpeded flow between lakes.
