Maintenance Update (10/28/22)

 Golf Maintenance

The sun is shining and the course is starting to come together now that we have had some time without rain.

Common Grounds

We are working to finish some of the projects that were delayed after Hurricane Ian including replacing the oak trees and landscaping that were taken down as part of the parking lot paving project.

Clean up and plant replacement in front of the Pro Shop…

And adding mulch to dress up the beds around the clubhouse…

Facilities

We continue to work on front and back of the house maintenance that improve the productivity and enjoyment of our club.

New Dish washing faucet in the kitchen …

Window tint at the Pro Shop (all those squares took a lot of patience, still more to do) to dampen the sun since the trees outside were removed…

Maintenance Update (10/21/22)

Golf Maintenance

After 16+ inches of rain in the last 3 weeks rainy season may be finally be over. The sun is out and the humidity has dropped and the air is nice an cool, perfect golfing weather. The course is still wet around the edges but doing very well all things considered.

 

Common Grounds

The storm put is behind schedule a bit but we are catching up quickly on the front entrance project. Mulch and pinestraw was added today. Flowers, will be installed tomorrow and a bit of sod around the edges will pretty much finish off the landscaping portion of the project.

Facilities

Hector continues to work on projects and touch up items that staff and members have brought to his attention. Some of these are functional like the ice scoop holder and adding shelves in the kitchen to dressing up the look of the coffee stand at the Divot. Many more items to come…

Maintenance Update (10/14/22)

Golf Course

The golf course and the sky were both looking pretty good this week! We have seen a substantial green up since the weeks immediately following Hurricane Ian. Some areas around the perimeter of the golf course are still wet and need some cleanup but for the most part the hurricane cleanup is wrapped up and we are getting back to our normal maintenance schedules. It’s great to see many people returning and enjoying the course.

Common Grounds

Now that most of the hurricane cleanup is complete we can return to some of the projects that had been started before Ian hit. One of those is adding landscape lighting to the David Blvd entrance.

Facilities Maintenance

As we continue to work on projects, we also have routinely scheduled maintenance happening. This week the carpets in the clubhouse were cleaned as they were near the end of season. Amazing how quickly the carpets get dirty in high traffic areas.

Maintenance Update (10/7/22)

 Golf Maintenance

Since Hurricane Ian a week ago Wednesday our staff has been hard at work clearing debris and getting the course back to it’s normal conditions. Here are a few pictures of the course and the cleanup this week. It almost looks like the storm never happened. Again we were very lucky there wasn’t major damage at Glen Eagle like in so many in our area.

The Cypress trees didn’t like the wind and salt that was blowing around during Ian.

Facilities

We lost some time while Ian was in the area but have jumped back on he Divot project and are putting down the flooring this week.

I want to take a minute to say a special thanks to our membership. Many donated the food and water pictured below plus gas, clothing, bikes and furniture to staff members, some of who lost everything in Hurricane Ian. Very thoughtful and much appreciated.
