It finally happened; enough rain to top off the lakes to the spill over point.
Since last Thursday we have had 4.69” of rain with 3” of that in one storm on Saturday. Happy to have the rain towards the end of summer. We still have a 5.83” YTD deficit compared to our historical average but with the recent rain and high rain potential in the 10 day forecast I am certainly feeling much better about our water position.

Just to keep illustrating how the El Niño is affecting our weather, last week Tropical Storm Dolly formed in the Atlantic. Once it got close to the Caribbean the wind shear tore it apart; now, it may give us some increased rain chances but that looks like all it will do. It has been amazing to watch multiple storms form, move across the Atlantic and be blown apart from winds that start way out in the Pacific Ocean. As this El Niño pattern progresses thru the fall I believe it will certainly have impacts on our weather well into next year.
We are looking forward to our final closure in a couple weeks along with some landscape projects to finish up the summer. Until then, mostly routine maintenance. Here are a few pictures of the course since the recent rain. There is nothing like natures irrigation.
