We received 1.9" of rain this week which really greened up the course and brought up our lakes 3 inches.

We are looking forward to our first closed maintenance Monday next week (May 11th). During that time we will work on minor cultural practices like verticutting and topdressing greens. We will also apply our first application of herbicide to the tees in preparation for the tee laser leveling and regrassing starting June 1st.
You can expect the tees to turn off color and eventually brown over the next 7 to 10 days but tee surface will remain dense enough to play off of until we strip them during the project this summer. Killing as much of the off-type or Common Bermudagrass that we can prior to physical removal will give us the best outcome and purity once the project is completed. I will post pictures of the project as we move along throughout the summer for those of you who are not here so you can see the improvement in the course as we go along.
