Glen Eagle Maintenance (9/19/25)

This week was all about trying to catch up. Many tasks like edging greens, edging beds around trees, spot spraying weeds and spraying non-selective herbicide in the beds on the course to name a few.

Our color is a little off due to overcast weather, scalping as we catch up on mowing, and relatively heavy plant growth regulator (PGR) use to help get back on top of clippings after delaying mowing last week due to rain.

We had a great week of work and are well on our way towards having the course in very good shape heading into the busy upcoming golf season.

We are getting closer to having all the bunker sand replaced and are expecting to have it finished by early next week. We will move on to raising drains and irrigation heads along with shell cart path work on 10 & 18 next week.

Common Ground also got some work done this week with tasks like planting plants to fill in open spots in the hedges on GE Blvd, trimming up a few hedges and trees that needed it and making some irrigation repairs.

We also started trimming trees at the entrances. Radio Road entrance was trimmed 1st so we can start working on installing landscaping around the new fence. Next will be tree trimming at Davis Blvd and the Clubhouse so our Christmas lights can be installed in the next month or so.

New hedge ready to be planted…

Every year we have Blastmaster pressure wash the sidewalks, curbs and gutters in the common grounds throughout GE. This work is scheduled to start on Monday and should finish later next week.

Lastly, I have had a few questions regarding finishing the Radio Road entrance fencing and gates. Do to damage done to one of the gates during the landscape removal process, the gates will be replaced, not painted in place as originally planned. We are waiting on our fence company to finish the fabrication, once they do, they will be out to wrap up the project.
