Golf Course
The weather, and sunlight has been much better over the last week to 10 days and the course has certainly greened up from it.
As you can see in theses pictures from last week and today, the leaf spot has been suppressed and some of the areas that were thinned have substantial regrowth in just a week.
In order to help the greens heal quickly, we have added fertilizer, reduced plant growth regulators (PGR’s) and raised the hight of cut (HOC). I know the greens have been slower from a ball roll standpoint but these are temporary conditions that have been necessary to protect our turf health. Bare with us a little longer and we will work on getting the speeds back.
Common Grounds
The ficus continues to have Whitefly issues so we are selectively back planting behind the existing hedge with plant verities not susceptible to Whitefly. In this case we are using Clusia. When they are dense enough, we will remove the ficus and be left with a nice lush hedge that requires much less work and expense to maintain.
